Zapco ASP-L2 BT — 2-Channel Line Driver with Bluetooth
The ASP-L2 BT is a two-channel signal line driver with Bluetooth streaming and a 9.5-volt pre-out. It performs two jobs: raising line-level signal voltage ahead of the cable run to the amplifiers, and adding a wireless source to a system that does not otherwise have one.
Line Driver Function
Head units typically output 2 to 5 volts. Across a long cable run through a vehicle, that signal collects noise from the alternator, ignition, and everything else sharing the loom.
Raising it to 9.5 volts before the run improves the ratio between signal and noise. The cable picks up the same interference either way, but it rides on a much larger signal — so amplifier gains can be set lower, and since gain amplifies noise along with music, the system runs quieter.
Bluetooth Streaming
The Bluetooth receiver adds a wireless source directly at line level. In a vehicle keeping a factory head unit with no Bluetooth — or with Bluetooth restricted to phone calls — that provides music streaming without replacing the head unit.
Because the signal enters at line level rather than through the head unit, it also bypasses whatever equalisation or processing the factory source applies to its own inputs.
System Application
A two-channel system needing both a signal boost and a wireless source — commonly a factory-source install where the head unit is staying and the owner wants streaming plus a quieter signal path.
It also suits a simple two-amplifier build where six channels of distribution would be more than the system needs.
Installation Considerations
Mount near the source, not near the amplifiers — the benefit comes from raising the signal before the noisy run, so placing it at the far end achieves nothing.
Consider Bluetooth antenna position when choosing the location. A unit buried in a metal enclosure or deep under trim will have a shorter, less reliable wireless range.
Reset amplifier gains after installation. Gains set for a 2-volt signal will clip the inputs at 9.5 volts.

HF Audio Perspective
Combining a line driver with a Bluetooth receiver makes sense because both belong in the same place in the signal chain — right after the source, before the run to the amplifiers.
For a factory-source system, that combination solves two common complaints at once: audible noise, and no way to play from a phone at reasonable quality. Neither requires replacing the head unit, which in a modern vehicle is often either impossible or expensive.
Where the system needs more than two channels distributed, the ASP-L6 covers that. Where two channels is the requirement and streaming is wanted, this does both from one small box.
