The ASP-OE8 is an eight-channel OEM signal adaptor with signal summing and a 9.5-volt pre-out. It captures up to eight channels of factory speaker-level output and recombines them into a full-range signal for aftermarket amplification.

Why Eight Channels and Summing

Modern factory systems rarely send a full-range signal to each speaker. They split the audio across many channels — highs to the tweeters, midrange to the doors, low frequencies to a dedicated woofer — with different filtering and equalisation applied to each.

Take signal from just one pair of those outputs and you get a filtered fragment, not the music. A tweeter channel has no bass in it; a door channel may have both ends rolled off.

Signal summing recombines those separate channels back into a full-range signal. Capturing eight channels and summing them reconstructs what the head unit started with, before the factory processor divided it up.

9.5-Volt Pre-Out

Output is a 9.5-volt pre-out rather than standard line level. The higher voltage improves signal-to-noise through the run to the amplifiers, letting gains sit lower and amplifying less of whatever the cable picked up.

Where the factory system is simple and provides full-range output on two channels, the ASP-OEB covers it. Where the only issue is bass rolloff, the ASP-OE2 addresses that specifically. This unit is for the case where the signal itself has been broken into pieces.

Installation Considerations

Identify which factory channels carry which frequencies before wiring. Summing works by recombining complementary bands — connecting the wrong outputs, or missing one, leaves a gap in the reconstructed signal that no amount of downstream processing will fill.

Some factory systems also apply time alignment between channels. Summing channels that have been delayed relative to each other can cause cancellation, so verify the result sounds full-range before finalising the install.

Set amplifier gains afterward, expecting them lower than usual given the 9.5-volt output.
