AudioControl EPICFIVE — 1100W RMS 5-Channel Amplifier
The EPICFIVE is a 5-channel Class D amplifier from AudioControl's EPIC Series: four full-range channels plus a dedicated subwoofer channel. It is rated at 75W x 4 + 300W x 1 into 4Ω and 150W x 4 + 500W x 1 into 2Ω, with the subwoofer channel delivering 700W RMS into 1Ω, all at 14.4V and under 1% THD.
Key Design Features
Channels 1–4 have a 12dB/octave Linkwitz-Riley high-pass filter, switchable off or adjustable from 50Hz to 500Hz, and a frequency response of 10Hz to 24kHz. The subwoofer channel has a 12dB/octave low-pass filter adjustable from 40Hz to 180Hz, a subsonic filter adjustable from off to 50Hz, and EPIC Boost with up to +12dB centered at 45Hz.
The included ACR-E remote provides dash-mounted subwoofer level control, and the EPICENTER Link output with its 1-meter harness supplies power, ground and remote turn-on to The EPICENTER or The EPICENTER Micro.
System Application
One chassis covers front speakers, rear speakers and a subwoofer. Channels 1–4 can also be bridged to 300W x 2 into 4Ω for a front stage that needs more power, leaving the fifth channel for the subwoofer.
An Input Mode switch matches the amplifier to the source: 5Ch for separate front, rear and subwoofer signal pairs; 4Ch for front and rear pairs, with the subwoofer channel taking its signal from the CH1/2 inputs; and 2Ch for a single signal pair, which the EPICFIVE routes to all five channels.
Installation Considerations
AudioControl specifies 4 AWG power and ground wire, a 150A fuse and 8 AWG speaker wire. Minimum load is 2Ω on channels 1–4 (4Ω bridged) and 1Ω on the subwoofer channel.

HF Audio Labs Perspective
The EPICFIVE is a single-amplifier solution for a 4-speaker system with one subwoofer. The deciding factor against a separate 4-channel and monoblock pair is mounting space versus subwoofer power: the fifth channel tops out at 700W RMS into 1Ω.
