AudioControl The EPICENTER PRO — Bass Restoration Processor & Line Driver
The EPICENTER PRO is AudioControl's digital bass restoration processor with a built-in line driver. It analyzes the harmonic content in the upper frequency ranges of a recording and uses it to reproduce low-frequency fundamentals that were lost or rolled off, then delivers the processed signal at a selectable, higher output voltage.
Key Design Features
ParaBASS controls set the center frequency, width and level of the bass effect. A selectable PFM subsonic filter at 24Hz, or bypass, removes content below the range the subwoofer system can use. Balanced line-level inputs accept up to 10V RMS, and the outputs reach 9V RMS (13V peak) at under 1% THD.
The included ACR-4 dual-knob dash remote adjusts both the EPICENTER effect and subwoofer level, and an LED display indicates how much restoration is taking place in real time.
System Application
The EPICENTER PRO is placed between a line-level source and the amplifiers. Its line driver raises the signal voltage sent to the amplifiers, which allows lower gain settings and better rejection of noise picked up along the RCA run. Because the inputs are line-level, a factory radio without preamp outputs will need a line output converter ahead of it, or The EPICENTER Micro PRO, which accepts speaker-level inputs directly.
Installation Considerations
Current draw is 300mA with a recommended 1A fuse. EPIC Series monoblocks and the EPICFIVE can supply power, ground and remote turn-on through their EPICENTER Link harness.

HF Audio Labs Perspective
The EPICENTER PRO suits a system that already has line-level outputs and needs both bass restoration and a higher-voltage signal to the amplifiers. Where the source is a factory speaker-level output, The EPICENTER Micro PRO combines the same processing with an integrated line output converter.
