Sold without speakers, it gives builders the correct enclosure volume, internal damping, and port tuning that ESB's engineers verified for optimal 5000 Series driver performance. Using a manufacturer-designed enclosure eliminates the acoustic guesswork that undermines even the best drivers. Internal volume, damping material, and baffle geometry are all calibrated for the 5.165 woofer's Thiele-Small parameters. The result is measurably better bass response and lower distortion than an approximated custom build. Sold as a pair without speakers. Install the 5.165 woofer in each box and connect to your passive or active crossover. The complete 5000 Series home/car reference speaker solution when used with the full 5000 component set.
