The ESB 9000 Series 9.1T-25 is a 1-inch (25mm) silk dome tweeter representing ESB's most advanced tweeter engineering in the 25mm format. The 9000 Series received the EISA Award for In-Car High-End Component 2024-2025 — an independent recognition of what this driver platform achieves.

The 9000 Series was designed around a principle borrowed from advanced aircraft engine engineering: the particular flower-shaped faceplate surrounding the tweeter dome is not an aesthetic decision. It functions as an acoustic lens. Its shape was chosen to reduce side refractions — a problem that is especially significant in car cabin environments where glass surfaces create multiple reflection paths. Both the form and the function serve the same goal: more accurate, more controlled sound reproduction.

Design

The 9.1T-25 uses a pure Japanese silk dome with resin impregnation and an integrated suspension — manufactured as a single piece. Making the dome and suspension in one piece eliminates the joints that cause break-up modes and vibration at the top of the tweeter's frequency range. The extremely low mass of this construction allows the tweeter to reproduce very high frequencies accurately.

The main magnet uses N52H neodymium — a high-temperature-resistant grade that maintains its magnetic properties under the elevated temperatures that car audio operation produces. The N52H magnet is one of the strongest permanent magnet materials available for tweeter applications. A super-light aluminum voice coil uses a high-strength aluminum alloy to reduce thickness and mass, with a pure copper skin coating that provides optimal resistance characteristics at minimal weight. A pure copper ring in the magnetic circuit reduces voice coil inductance — improving high-frequency response accuracy and the tweeter's ability to reproduce rapid transient signals. A felt ring eliminates unwanted vibrations from the dome periphery.

Designed for Real-World Installation

The 9.1T-25 works well in A-pillar locations, sail panels, and custom tweeter pods. The included installation accessories provide fitment options for a range of vehicle-specific locations. The flower-shaped acoustic lens faceplate is designed to reduce the side refractions that standard tweeter faceplates allow — a benefit particularly relevant in vehicle installations where the tweeter is rarely in a reflection-free environment.
