The ESB 9.UMA is the pinnacle of ESB's UMA (Unit Medium-High) design philosophy — a single precision-engineered housing containing a 3"/75 mm midrange cone and a 1"/25 mm silk dome tweeter, co-located and phase-aligned from the factory. The UMA concept was pioneered by ESB decades ago and refined continuously; the 9000 Series UMA represents its highest expression. Co-location of the midrange and tweeter in a single housing eliminates the installation variables that degrade imaging in conventional 3-way systems — tweeter height, off-axis angle, and the phase relationship between drivers are all factory-determined and validated. The result is a mid-high presentation that is both more consistent across installations and more precisely integrated than separately mounted drivers. The 9.UMA pairs directly with the 9.6W woofer to form ESB's 9000 Series 3-way system. Install the UMA at ear height in an A-pillar or door pod, mount the 9.6W woofer in the door, and tune the crossover via Zapco DSP for a reference Italian front stage.
