Wāvtech link750.1plus — 750W RMS Mono Amplifier
The link750.1plus is a 750W RMS mono amplifier built around a dual voltage rail power supply, allowing the same amplifier to deliver its full rated power into either a 2Ω or 1Ω total nominal load depending on which output drive mode is selected. At 4Ω, output is 450W RMS.
Key Design Features
The dual voltage rail design is the amplifier's defining feature: a front panel Output Drive Mode switch sets the amplifier to either 1Ω mode (the default, minimum total load 1Ω) or 4Ω/2Ω mode (minimum total load 2Ω). The two modes are not interchangeable at will — the switch must match the actual wired impedance of the connected subwoofer(s). Wāvtech specifies that connecting a lower impedance than the selected mode allows can result in an over-current condition or a blown external fuse.
The onboard bassFREQ processor provides a single-band parametric EQ (0 to +12dB boost, center frequency adjustable from 30–80Hz, Q range of 1.5 to 5 for narrow or wide bandwidth), along with independent −24dB/octave subsonic and low-pass filters. Differential balanced inputs and dual input sensitivity ranges (5V/10V for RCA, 20V/40V for speaker-level) accommodate a range of source units, including OEM systems.
System Application
The link750.1plus is built specifically as a subwoofer amplifier — the speaker output terminal is documented for connecting to one or more subwoofers, with dual positive/negative terminals provided for parallel wiring convenience rather than stereo output. A single subwoofer at 1Ω or 2Ω total nominal impedance, or multiple subwoofers wired in parallel to reach 1Ω or 2Ω total, are the documented configurations.
The speaker-level inputs include OEM load detect compatibility, and the amplifier supports Stop-Start vehicle systems, making it suited to adding a dedicated subwoofer channel to a factory system without a dedicated RCA output.
Installation Considerations
Power and ground wiring use 4AWG minimum, with the ground run no longer than 2 feet and terminated to bare chassis metal. The external fuse is rated at 100A, installed within 18 inches of the battery's positive terminal, and should not be installed until all other connections are complete.
The subsonic filter is specifically identified in the manual as important for ported enclosures, to prevent over-excursion below the enclosure's tuning frequency. Gain should be set at minimum with the correct input range selected before the amplifier is first powered on, and the Output Drive Mode should never be changed while the amplifier is powered.

HF Audio Labs Perspective
The link750.1plus makes sense as a dedicated subwoofer amplifier where the final wired impedance is 1Ω, 2Ω, or 4Ω, and where the flexibility of the dual voltage rail design — rather than a fixed single-impedance rating — allows the same amplifier to be specified across different subwoofer wiring configurations. The deciding factor is confirming the actual total nominal impedance the subwoofer wiring will present, then selecting the corresponding Output Drive Mode before the system is first powered on.
