A Two-Way Speaker System Built for the 6x9 Format

The ESB 3000 Series 3.69K2.5 is a two-way speaker system designed around the 6x9 driver format, pairing the ESB 3.69 mid-woofer with the 3.65 widerange driver.

The 6x9 format provides more cone surface area than a standard 6.5-inch driver — an advantage for low-frequency output in vehicles where that mounting location is available. The 3.69K2.5 applies ESB's 3000 Series design approach to that format.

The 3.65 Widerange Driver

The ESB 3.65 is a 2.5-inch (65mm) driver designed to cover mid and high frequencies as a single unit. A CNC-machined aluminum center plug helps linearize and extend high-frequency response — improving consistency at the listening angles common in vehicle door installations.

The combination of wide bandwidth and controlled dispersion makes the 3.65 a practical solution for the upper frequency range in a 6x9 two-way system.

Specifications: 4 ohm nominal impedance, 60W nominal power handling, 120W transient, 130 Hz to 22 kHz frequency response, 86 dB sensitivity at 2.83V/1m.

The 3.69 Mid-Woofer

The ESB 3.69 is a 6x9 (150x230mm) mid-woofer built on the same material and construction principles as the 3.165. The basket design focuses on torsional rigidity. A pressed paper cone with waterproof treatment and a Y-35 ferrite magnet motor provide the foundation for controlled low-frequency performance.

Designed for Real-World Installation

The 3.69K2.5 fits standard 6x9 mounting locations in most vehicles. It works well in rear deck locations, rear doors, and vehicles where 6x9 is the primary speaker format.

For systems using 6x9 locations in the front, the 3.69K2.5 can form the foundation of the front stage. In systems with a dedicated 6.5-inch front stage, it integrates cleanly as rear fill.
