The ESB 8000 Series 8.6K2S is a two-way component speaker system combining the 8.165 mid-woofer and 8.028S Torcon dome tweeter in a squared housing configuration. In every performance and construction dimension, it is identical to the 8.6K2. The squared housing of the 8.028S accommodates installation locations where the rounded 8.028 housing would not mount correctly or flush.

The selection between the 8.6K2 and 8.6K2S should be determined entirely by the installation requirement — specifically, which tweeter housing geometry allows for the better mounting position in the vehicle.

The 8.028S Torcon Dome Tweeter

Torcon PPS dome. N52 neodymium motor with pure copper ring. 7000 aluminum alloy CNC-machined body. FEM-optimized motor geometry. Identical in specification and performance to the 8.028 rounded variant, in a squared profile that provides different mounting compatibility.

The 8.165 Mid-Woofer

Identical to the driver used in the 8.6K2. 7000 aluminum alloy CNC basket, non-pressed paper cone, oversized Y-35 magnet, FEM-optimized motor, advanced voice coil ventilation.

Designed for Real-World Installation

The 8.6K2S works with the 8.6K2 CX premium passive crossover and supports active DSP integration. The correct choice between the 8.6K2 and 8.6K2S is whichever tweeter housing geometry allows for the better tweeter placement in the specific vehicle being installed.
