Self-Contained Bass Integration for Vehicles with Limited Space

The ESB 3000 Series 3.WB6 is a 6.5-inch active subwoofer — a complete bass system in a single, compact enclosure. The driver, amplifier, and enclosure are integrated at the factory. No separate amplifier is required.

The 3.WB6 was designed to address a specific installation challenge: vehicles where dedicated subwoofer and amplifier space is limited, but where improving low-frequency performance would meaningfully benefit the listening experience.

The Integrated System

The 3.WB6 uses a low-impedance driver paired with a built-in high-current Class D amplifier rated at 250W RMS / 500W peak. The amplifier is integrated directly into the enclosure, eliminating the need for a separate amplifier installation.

Built-in controls include variable gain, variable low-pass filter adjustable from 50 to 200 Hz, variable bass boost from 0 to 12 dB, and 0° to 180° phase adjustment. Auto power-on supports remote trigger, DC offset detection, and signal sensing. A wired remote control is included for level adjustment from the driver's seat.

The enclosure depth is 15 cm — designed specifically for locations where a traditional subwoofer enclosure would not fit.

Designed for Real-World Installation

The 3.WB6 is well suited for hatchbacks, coupes, sedans, and any vehicle where cargo space is a priority. It is also a practical option for factory system upgrades where adding a separate subwoofer and amplifier would create excessive complexity.

Installation requires a power connection, ground, and signal input. The built-in controls allow output level and crossover frequency to be set to match the system.

The 3.WB6 addresses the reality that many vehicles do not accommodate a traditional subwoofer installation. For those systems, an active subwoofer with built-in amplification and adjustment controls can provide meaningful low-frequency improvement where a conventional approach would not be practical.

For installations where a properly sized enclosure and dedicated amplifier can be used, that approach typically produces better results. The 3.WB6 is the right choice when the vehicle or the installation context requires a different solution.
