Flagship Tweeter Performance in a Squared Housing Configuration

The ESB 8.028S is the squared housing variant of the 8.028 Torcon dome tweeter — identical in driver construction, materials, specification, and performance, with a different outer housing profile that accommodates installation locations where the rounded 8.028 housing would not mount correctly.

The Torcon PPS dome, the 7000 aluminum alloy CNC-machined body, the N52 neodymium motor with pure copper ring, and the FEM-optimized magnetic circuit are all identical to the 8.028 rounded variant. The distinction is the squared profile of the outer housing only.

System Application

The 8.028S is used in the 8.6K3S and 8.6K2S speaker systems. As a standalone driver, it suits installation locations where a squared housing profile allows for better mounting geometry — flush-mount locations, OEM-style openings, or any position where the rounded housing would not seat correctly.

Tweeter placement is one of the most critical installation decisions in a front stage build. The 8.028S exists specifically to allow the correct placement decision to be made without compromising the driver quality. When the squared housing provides a better mounting position than the rounded 8.028 would, choosing the 8.028S is the correct decision. The performance is the same.
