The ESB 8.003UMA is ESB's flagship mid-high unit — a UMA assembly in which every individual part is CNC-machined, using a combination of brass, stainless steel, and Avional aluminum. It is not simply a driver. It is the most precisely manufactured mid-high component in ESB's car audio range.

Design

The UMA concept concentrates midrange and tweeter output into a near single-point source, controlling their physical relationship before the installation begins. The 8.003UMA applies that concept with manufacturing precision and material quality that exceeds every other UMA in the ESB lineup.

The tweeter section uses a Torcon soft dome — Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) — for superior heat resistance, low mass, and excellent self-damping. This provides resonance-free frequency response across and above the audible range. The midrange uses a non-pressed cellulose pulp cone with Vinylester resin treatment — chosen for an accurate, natural tonal character that ESB's 8000 Series is specifically designed to deliver. Both sections use large, FEA-optimized, vented neodymium motor magnets for improved efficiency and linear performance. Every metal part of both drivers is produced by CNC machining — providing tolerances and geometric precision that conventional casting or stamping cannot achieve.

System Application

The 8.003UMA handles midrange and high-frequency reproduction in the 8.6K3U speaker system, and is available as a standalone driver for custom installations. It works well in A-pillar, sail panel, upper door, and factory mid/high locations. Paired with the 8.165 mid-woofer, it completes the mid and high-frequency section of a reference three-way front stage.
