ESB 4.6K2 CX — Two-Way Passive Crossover Network
The matched passive crossover for the 4000 Series two-way front stage. It manages the frequency division between the 4.165 woofer and the 4.28 tweeter — the crossover point, filter slopes, and level balance designed for this specific pairing.
Key Design Features
Component values were chosen for the impedance and sensitivity characteristics of the 4.165 and 4.28. The network places the handoff exactly where the two drivers were designed to meet, and holds that division as amplifier power increases.
System Application
Passive two-way operation from a single amplifier channel per side. Builders moving to active control can bypass the network and use its crossover point as a starting reference for DSP setup. Available separately for replacement or component-level builds. Mounts in the door, under the dash, or in a custom location near the speakers, secured away from heat with wiring gauged for the amplifier power involved. It is included in the complete 4000 Series two-way kit and available separately for replacement or component-level builds.
Specifications
Type: two-way passive crossover. Matched to: 4.165 woofer, 4.28 tweeter.
HF Audio Perspective
The crossover is what makes two drivers a system. The 4.6K2 CX gives the 4000 Series two-way its factory-engineered integration — the right handoff at the right balance, from one amplifier channel per side. It fits the builder running passive or specifying the front stage component by component.
